The Helen Winterson Fashion Show

You may recall from our August blog we were exhibiting and shooting at the

Midsummer Evening Gala at Marple Bridge.

A fabulous evening raising over £2500 for the Alzheimers Soceity.

Congratulations to Mandy Mottram on successfully outbidding everyone else for one of our Lifestyle Portrait shoots.....we look forward to creating some stunning images for you.

The light was challenging, as the stage lighting was set up for a band and disco, not a fashion show, but professionalism prevailed. It reminded me of the Daily Express days....don't even think about coming back with no snaps was a regular instruction from the picture desk.

Village Brides Runaway Success

Congratulations to Gemma, Laura and Hayley. Their published image received a "Distinction" in the August edition of Digital SLR Photography magazine. I submitted the image to the monthly competition on Photographic techniques. This months subject was movement. Grades are awarded for every entry, culminating in an overall annual prize. There are two months to go, and our final entry is a very creative and striking image in the Animal category.....watch this space!

Considering the weather the East Midlands has had recently, we were favourably blessed with breaks in the rain at all the right moments. Safely in the church, torrential downpour. Safely in the pub, torrential downpour. I don't think anything was going to dampen anyones spirits on such a lovely day. I hope you enjoy viewing the images. CHRISTENINGS ! Weddings for Little People.

That's how we like to approach our coverage. We use a mixture of documentary, traditional, reportage and editorial photography. This gives us the right blend of images for what is a most significant family event.

Wouldn't it have been wonderful to have christening photographs from our grandparents or great grandparents. They really would be treasured family heirlooms. This is why we like to remind our clients about their investment in our photography. It isn't just the here and now of the baptism and celebrations, but we are also documenting the social history of a family. We are creating beautiful images and albums to be enjoyed now, and to pass on to future generations.
